On 12th March 2016, the Diocese gathered at a Special Convention at the Philadelphia Cathedral and elected the Rev. Canon Daniel G. P. Gutierrez to serve as the next Bishop of Pennsylvania.
God willing and the people consenting, he will be ordained and consecrated a Bishop in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church and 16th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania on 16th July 2016 at 11 o’clock at New Covenant Church, 7500 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119 (map). The Most Reverend Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church, will be the chief consecrator.

We are working with a time of 11 o’clock on the 16th July. The Presiding Bishop’s office needs to confirm this time.
Many people will work together to make the ordination and consecration a successful and wonderful celebration in the life of our Diocese. We especially need volunteers to serve as greeters, ushers, choir members, and to help host the reception.
